MISSION STATEMENT OF NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH;

As a missions-minded church, we believe we are to:

* Fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in helping people become fully functioning followers of Christ

* Teach the tenets of Christianity.

* Equip believers for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them (Ephesians 4:11-16)

* Obey the task that has been given to us by God as a beacon of salvation, living out transformational grace through His Son Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16)

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor John and Charlotte FletcherPastor: John Fletcher,

I have been Pastor at New Life Baptist Church for 39 years.
I was born in Denison, Texas, and was Born Again at a young age, surrendering to the call of God to full-time service at the end of my sophomore year of high school.  I graduated from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri, where I met and fell in love with my now wife of 52 years.  In 1968, I was ordained and interned at my home church, the Southside Baptist Church in Denison, Texas.

In September of 1969, my wife and I moved to Somerset, Pennsylvania, to start a new church.  Three years later, we moved to the Pittsburgh area and worked under Dr. John Arnold, where I was privileged to start a Christian School at Library Baptist Church, and during which time the Lord gave us our precious daughter, Bethany.

I consider it a blessing on my life to have worked with some great men of God:  Wayne Imboden, John Arnold, Bill Campbell, Don Elmore, John Sparks and Leon Sikes.  From 1973 until 1985, I worked as administrator and teacher in several Christian schools, and in 1985, I was called to the Community Bible Church in St. Augustine, where I served as pastor for five years, before our move to New Life Baptist Church.

God has blessed my wife, Charlotte, and I at New Life Baptist.  My daughter, Bethany, has grown here and serves the Lord as Worship Team Leader and is also a teaching leader at the thriving ladies Bible Study Fellowship of St. Augustine.  We now have three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Nothing would please me more than to finish out my ministry in this loving, serving, missions-minded church.  We invite you to come and be a part of this great work.  God has not called us to judge anybody who walks through our doors, but to help people grow in their relationship with God.
